Dave Maass, director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, called the new product “kind of a nightmare.” The AI's tendency to “hallucinate,” or invent information, carries the fear of false statements appearing in reports.
Moreover, Axon's response of having humans review the reports does little to alleviate public skepticism, considering public trust levels in police diligence. As Draft One undergoes trials in law enforcement agencies, the question remains: is the convenience of AI worth the potential hazards?
