These improvements will directly affect all ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise account users who have been relying on the plugins for additional functionalities.
Why such a shift, you ask? ChatGPT Plugins were ingenious innovations that acted like browser extensions for the AI chatbot, adding a third-party function that wasn't originally built into the chatbot by OpenAI. The one many are familiar with is the GPT LLMs, including GPT-3.5, GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, etc. These GPT LLMs are the nouveau horsepower of ChatGPT, as well as programs that outsource their AI processing to OpenAI. The other refers to the customized versions of ChatGPT which users and developers can construct according to their needs.
Building a GPT turns out to be a no-code application. For example, you can create a GPT that designs customized logos or writes in your preferred style with the GPT builder which works based on conversation. The beauty of GPTs is you can add any information to guide the bot's operation, select its capabilities, and it forms a GPT.
